MEET THE ARTIST. . .

Painting is a way of expressing myself that I find irresistible. To express the feeling of a scene, whether it is of the landscape, a still life of my favorite things, or a posing figure, I strive to create a mood that the viewer can visualize through my painting.

I am living in the North Georgia Mountains and am able to see the beautiful mountain vistas, streams, and fields all around me. Many of the old farms are disappearing and the rural settings are being replaced by progress. I hope that I can record these scenes so they can be remembered and enjoyed. Whether I'm painting plein air or recording the scene with my camera while on travels, I love the process. Seeing the many shapes, colors, and values are always in my mind.

Painting satisfies me and stills me to contemplate how I will convey my vision. Pastel, oil and encaustics are all mediums that I use. Whether the soft vibrancy of pastels, the brushwork in the oils, or the unpredictability of the encaustics, I love being an artist.

I am represented by Junor Gallery in Decatur, Georgia.
